Imagine kicking off your Master of Fine Arts degree for nine days at the start of the new year on the Susquehanna University campus. As part of an educational partnership, Susquehanna will host the Vermont College of Fine Arts’ winter residency program, including 300 VCFA students and 150 faculty and staff, Jan. 2–14, 2024.
VCFA is extending exclusive scholarships to SU alumni for the winter residency, which kicks off two years of an MFA program.
Over the winter break, Susquehanna lecture halls, performance centers and classrooms will be buzzing with music, film screenings, readings, and visual art and design exhibitions of MFA students, faculty and guest artists.
“Susquehanna is honored to host the Vermont College of Fine Arts winter program on our campus. The partnership is a synergistic alliance as we have shared expertise in arts, design, music and writing disciplines,” said Susquehanna University President Jonathan Green.
VCFA offers MFAs in six creative disciplines: graphic design, film, music composition, visual arts, writing, and writing for children & young adults. The college’s low-residency program is a unique model geared toward adults with busy lives. Following an on-campus residency, students continue their semester studies at home for six months through individualized mentorship.
Susquehanna alumni or anyone interested to learn more about or apply to VCFA’s MFA programs can contact Annie Sklar, director of admissions, or visit VCFA.edu.
